INK VESSEL AND PRINTER USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink vessel wherein data such as a quantity of residual ink can be surely rewritten even when an inexpensive memory element to be mounted on the ink vessel is used and an ink device using the ink vessel. SOLUTION: An inexpensive EEPROM to which only a sequential access is applied is used as a memory element 80 to be mounted on each of ink cartridges 107K, 107F in an ink jet printer 1 to lower the cost. In a memory cell 81 of the memory element 80, a first memory region wherein the quantity of residual ink in the ink cartridge 107K or 107F is assigned in a region where the accessing is applied prior to the accessing to a second memory region wherein read-only data is to be stored.
