PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical element and a projector, which using the element which is small in size, bright and high-performance without color uneveness, by decreasing and equalizing the optical path lens of each color light in a color light separation optical system, without overlapping a light source or a projecting lens and further by reflecting all the color lights after separation. SOLUTION: The optical element has one incident end face where the light from the light source enters, and first, second and third wavelength selective reflection faces to separate the light into three color rays, and three exit faces to allow the respective color rays separated by the wavelength selective reflection faces to exit. |
