<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-piece solid golf ball which does not reduce the carry at the time of a full shot by a driver or a long iron, and by which an excellent controlling property can be obtained by improving the spinning characteristics at the time of an approach shot using a short iron or the like, and in addition, a favorable linearly advancing property with an excellent rolling property on the green can be obtained, and an excellent durability wherein scratches by hitting are hard to occur can be obtained as well. SOLUTION: This three-piece solid golf ball comprises a three-layer structure of a solid core, an intermediate layer and a cover. In such a three-piece solid golf ball, the deformation amount of the solid core when a load of 100 kg is applied is 2.5 mm or higher. The cover is formed mainly of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer as the main material, in a manner to have the Shore D hardness of 35 to 55. Also, the moment of inertia of the overall ball comprising these three layers is 83 gcm2 or higher.</p> |
