HEAT TREATMENT AND PICKLING PROCESS OF STAINLESS STEEL ANNEALED IN BATCH FURNACE

PURPOSE: A heat treatment of stainless steels such as AISI 430 and 420J2 stainless steel that require batch annealing operation is provided to effectively remove surface scale from hot strip of stainless steel. CONSTITUTION: After heat-treating stainless steels such as AISI 430 and 420J2 stainless steel in batch annealing furnace, the stainless steels are heat-treated instantaneously in continuous annealing line at 500 to 700°C so that the interface between scale and metal is changed. Then, the stainless steel is pickled for 30-60 seconds.
