PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable card with satisfactory mechanical properties comprising a base material made of oriented polyactic acid, wherein the card can be easily discarded for its natural decomposable capacity in natural environment or in under ground where it is buried after use. SOLUTION: The biodegradable card comprises a base material 10 having there on at least a printing layer 12 and optionally a magnetic recording layer 14 and/or a heat sensitive recording layer according to requirements, wherein the above base material 10 is a sheet prepared either by a uniaxially or biaxially orienting after kneading the mixture of a ligneous component, a filler and a thermoplastic resin consisting of polyactic acid or a copolymer of lactic acid and oxycarboxylic acid having a number average molecular weight of 10000 to 100000, wherein the above lactic acid is either D-lactic acid, L-lactic acid or their mixture. |
