SUBSTANCE: grinding disc has intermittent working surface with regular profile, for example with thread profile. Working surface of grinding disc includes even number of portions profiled with pitch 2P, where P - profile pitch of ground blank. Profiles of portions of working surface are shifted one relative to another by value P. Every other thread of blank is ground and each protrusion of thread profile is worked at one side. Next working portion works other side of thread profile. EFFECT: enhanced quality and efficiency of thread grinding due to lowered (more than twice) thermal stresses at working. 3 dwg
