PURPOSE: An exhaust system having a variable flow function is provided to reduce noise and back pressure simultaneously by automatically extending/shortening a flow passage by the amount of exhaust gas in a whole operating section of an engine. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust pipe(10) is connected to an exhaust manifold, and has a resonator and a muffler. An extension chamber(10a) is formed on the pipe(10) and has a large diameter, relatively. A variable flow unit(20) is installed in the extension chamber(10a). The variable flow unit(20) moves according to the amount of exhaust gas(F) and extends/shortens a flow passage.
