PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical coupler for optical transmission/reception that improves efficiency in handling of optical signals by using simple parts, without increasing the cost. SOLUTION: The coupling device is equipped with a light-emitting coupler 110, that is installed on the front of a light-emitting element 200 for emitting optical signals and that is composed of a resin having a lightguide property for deriving optical signals from the light-emitting element 200, and with a light-receiving coupler 120 installed on the front of a light-receiving element 300 for receiving optical signals and that is composed of a resin having a lightguide property for introducing optical signals to the light-receiving element 300. The light-emitting coupler 110 is designed, such that the area of the incident end 111 on the light-emitting side facing the light-emitting element 200 is larger than the area of the outgoing end 112 on the other light-emitting side, while the light-receiving coupler 120 is designed, such that the area of the outgoing end 122 on the light-receiving side facing the light-receiving element 300 is smaller than the area of the incident end 121 on the other light-receiving side. |
