PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a clutch device particularly suitable for an electric power steering device. SOLUTION: This device comprises a shaft 1, two disc-like cover materials 2, 2 fixed by being appropriately spaced in the axial direction after penetrating the shaft 1, plural sprags 3, 3, etc., disposed between both the cover materials 2, 2 and disposed tiltably in the axial circumference direction of the shaft 1 between both the cover materials 2, 2, elastic members 5 for always keeping the sprags 3, 3, etc., in a neutral form, and an outer ring member 6 rotatably mounted to radial circumferential positions of both the cover materials 2, 2 and having an inside surface engaged with the sprags 3, 3, etc., to tilt the sprags 3, 3, etc. The sprags 3 are tilted by the rotation of the ring member 6, so that the shaft 1 is pressed and engaged with them. |
