PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a birefringent film made of an optically anisotropic material which is optically transparent and has high heat resistance. SOLUTION: The film 16 of the optically anisotropic material is used for a liquid crystal display device, having a liquid crystal cell 10 between two polarizers 14, 15, with the liquid crystal cell 10, having a twisted nematic liquid crystal material 11 held between two substrates 12, 13 having electrodes. The film 16 of the optically anisotropic material is formed from a synthetic resin composition, having a helically arranged polymer network. |
