PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a total processing time per device in a continuous process for devices by an automatic handler. SOLUTION: This automatic handler 100 is provided with: a loader 11 for housing a tray 2 with plural unmeasured IC's 1 mounted; a feeding shuttle 12 for transferring the tray on the loader to a measurement preparation position P1; a measurement stage 20 for holding the tray on the feeding shuttle waiting at the position P1, for sequentially transferring the unmeasured IC's in the held tray to an IC socket 4 while keeping the unmeasured IC's in the tray mounted in the tray, and for transferring the tray to a housing preparation position P2 after the measurement at the IC socket is completed for all the IC's in the tray; a housing shuttle 13 for transferring the tray received from the measurement stage to a housing buffer P3; and a classifying-housing part for classifying and housing the measured IC's mounted in the tray on the housing shuttle waiting at the housing buffer P3 based on the measurement results at the IC socket.
