PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detector capable of accurately measuring the level of a liquid. SOLUTION: This liquid level detector for detecting the level of a liquid based on the pressure head of the liquid is equipped with a supply pipe 11 for leading a gas for liquid level detection, two branch pipes 12 and 13 connected to the supply pipe 11, orifices 14 and 15 having the same aperture area and provided in the branch pipes 12 and 13, respectively, and a pressure gauge 17 connected between portions of the branch pipes 12 and 13 downstream of the orifices 14 and 15 to detect the pressures at the connected portions A and B, and to measure the difference between the detected pressures. An end 12a of one branch pipe 12 is positioned in the liquid 6 and an end 13a of the other branch pipe 13 is positioned in the atmosphere in a container 16 for storing the liquid 6.
