PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device dispensing with a special member to fix a brush body to a brush support member in the case of a code-brush device used as a position detection mechanism for two members making relative movement. SOLUTION: This code-brush device can fix the brush body to the brush support member without requiring fixing members such as fastening screws by using the force of the brush body elastically deforming its elastic contact legs. The brush body has a base plate part abutting on a support surface formed on the brush support member and at least two elastically deformable elastic contact legs extending through a through hole formed in the brush support member to the code support member side. A fulcrum formed on the brush support member abuts on the plate part in the proximity of a boundary part between the contact legs of the brush body and the plate part thereof and gives a turning force to the brush body in a direction causing the plate part to abut on the support surface of the brush support member when an elastically deforming force is given to the contact legs via a code plate.
