PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtering and drying apparatus, capable of continuously filtering and drying stock slurries. SOLUTION: A sealed container 3, capable of being pressurized or pressure- reduced, is covered on its outer periphery with a jacket 4. A heating medium is made to circulate along an outer peripheral surface of the container 3 by a baffle plate 17 installed in a space between the container 3 and the jacket 4. The container 3 is a filtering and drying tank 1, which is separated into a filtering chamber 5 and a drying chamber 7 by a filtering plate 5. A cake, formed on the plate 5 after filtering a stock slurry, is dried in a heating state, while rotating or counter rotating the tank 1.
