PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device and an image forming device provided with this capable of reducing the number of components, simplifying a composition, and capable of reducing assembly man-hour. SOLUTION: By a detecting means 8A having a detecting part 9 and a movable member 8 provided with a first press piece 8d pressed by a sheet housed in a sheet housing means 7a, a second press piece 8a pressed by a sheet passing a predetermined position, and detection pieces 8b and 8c moving integrally with the first and second press pieces 8a and 8d to a position detectable by the detecting part 9 when the first and second press pieces 8a and 8d are pressed, an existence of a sheet in the sheet housing means 7a, and arrival to a predetermined position and passing of a fed sheet are detected. A determining means determines an existence of a sheet in the sheet housing means 7a and whether or not a sheet is normally fed to the predetermined position on the basis of detection or non-detection of the detection pieces 8b and 8c by the detecting part 9 of the detecting means 8A.
