PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer apparatus for a can body capable of restraining abrasion of a cushion ring and improving durability. SOLUTION: This transfer apparatus 27 for a can body is provided with the cushion ring 39 for catching a bottom part 2 of the can body 1 moving while rotating around the axis with the bottom part 2 turned in the moving direction, a cushion ring support member 31 for fixing the cushion ring 39 and having a vacuum passage 36c, and a suction cup 40 provided on the cushion ring support member 31 and connected to the vacuum passage 36c to suck the base 2a of the bottom part 2 of the can body 1 by vacuum. The cushion ring support member 31 can be driven to rotate in the same direction as the rotating direction of the can body 1 taking the moving direction A of the can body 1 as an axis.
