PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary filling apparatus having a pneumatically liftable container table 1 which is servable both for filling a container B of a first kind such as a bottle-type container having a shoulder portion Ba and for filling a container C of a second kind such as a top open can having no shoulder portion. SOLUTION: In the case of a container B of a first kind, the respective containers B conveyed by a first supply conveyor 20 are supplied onto a container table 1 in a filler 30 with the aid of a supply star wheel 32. After filling each container B, it is discharged with the aid of a discharge star wheel (supply/discharge star wheel) 34. The containers B of the first kind are conveyed at the same height as a level which is shown when the container table 1 is made to descend to the lowest position by a lifting cam 14 under the condition that an air lifter 2 for the container table 1 is filled with air. In the case of a container C of a second kind, the respective containers C are supplied onto the container table 1 with the aid of the supply/discharge star wheel 34, and the filling is performed. The container table 1 in this case is set to the lowest height at which a cam follower 16 is not brought into contact with the lifting cam 14 without introducing air into the air lifter 2. A support plate 52B of the supply/discharge star wheel 34, which supports a bottom face of the container C, has a slope, and a downstream end 52Bb of the support plate 52B coincides with the height of the container table 1 located at the lowest position.
