PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric rice cooker having a small and compact pressure controller excellent in design, which is capable of effectively inhibiting overflowing without making a structure change affecting a lid large or the like. SOLUTION: The electric rice cooker is provided with an inner pot, a rice cooker body for removably storing the inner pot, a lid body for opening/shutting an opening part of the rice cooker body, a steam passage provided on the lid body for discharging steam outside from inside of the inner pot, and the pressure controller part provided on the steam passage for controlling pressure inside the inner pot, wherein the pressure controller part communicates with the steam passage. The electric rice cooker is also provided with a steam discharging space for separating the steam containing rice glue from the steam passage into the rice glue and the steam, a lifting valve receiver provided on a bottom opening communicating with the steam passage of the steam discharging space, and a lifting valve retained on the lifting valve receiver so as to freely elevate/descend. The lifting valve is generally spherical, wherein an outer periphery face is formed on a level of specified height.
