A portable device is provided with a means for establishing its geographic location by means of received radio waves. A signalling means is provided for transmitting the identification and established geographic location of the device. The portable device comprises a casing (2) with an optionally rechargeable power supply (12), a receiver (8), a transmitter (10) and keys for operating the device.
