PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling an ozone deodorizer capable of deodorizing air with surplus ozone by emitting the surplus ozone of such a concentration that will not adversely affect the human body. SOLUTION: An ultraviolet lamp 14 for generating ozone, a fan 18 for forming air flow from an air intake 22 to an outlet 24, and an ozone decomposing catalyst material 16 are disposed in a casing 12 with the air intake 22 and the outlet 24. In the ozone deodorizer 10, air taken into the inside from the air intake 22 is deodorized with the ozone generated by the ultraviolet lamp 14, and the surplus ozone after the deodorization is decomposed into oxygen with the ozone decomposing catalyst material 16. By controlling the output of the ultraviolet lamp 14, the quantity of generated ozone is adjusted. By controlling the output of the fan 18, the flow rate of air is adjusted, and by controlling the contact area of the ozone decomposing catalyst material 16 with the surplus ozone, the quantity of ozone decomposition is adjusted. As a result, the surplus ozone of the concentration between 0.006 ppm and 0.09 ppm is emitted from the outlet 24.
