The electromagnetic relay unit has a number of axially in line contact pairs [7,10] that are opened and closed by a slide element [3]. This is mechanically coupled to pivot [25] mounted armature plate [5] that forms part of an electromagnetic actuator. The actuator has a coil [15] on a former [14] with a magnetic yoke [16]. The slide couples to the armature using a ball end [26] captive in a slot.
