PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a special silk cotton which has excellent elasticity and water repellency for repelling water when hot water, tea, etc., are spilt, exhibits such characteristics that controls moisture of sweat, etc., coming from the body and removes the sweat, etc., with silk fibers having moisture conditioning properties while it is used and whose excellent characteristics such as being extremely lightweight and having strong heat retaining properties exhibits almost no difference in comparison with a quilt containing a high class down feathers and whose price is at most 1/3 of that of the high class down feathers. SOLUTION: This special silk cotton for the quilt is provided by spraying a mixed solution of a silicone water repellent agent for providing a flexible feeling being rich in smoothness and a resilient touch and an optional amount of a catalyst liquid onto a floss with heat retaining properties, air permeability, moisture conditioning properties, and crimping properties, performing heat drying treatment of it, making the product into an entangled extended cotton by a scutcher, laminating it and molding it into a thickness, a weight, a size, and a shape corresponding to a use.
