PURPOSE: A system and a method for modifying the program of an Internet refrigerator are provided to change a program related to the function control of an Internet refrigerator into a new program according to a user's selection by embedding an external memory and an external memory control part in the Internet refrigerator. CONSTITUTION: An Internet refrigerator(100) is comprised of a communication module part(110), a protocol processing part(120), a microcomputer(130), a driving part(140), a display part(150), and a key input part(160). The communication module part(110) receives the remote control information of a service providing part(200) through a communication network, and transmits information for the operation contents of the Internet refrigerator(100). The protocol processing part(120) executes a protocol control function so that each information transmitted and received through the communication module part(110) can be connected between the service providing part(200) and the Internet refrigerator(100). The microcomputer(130), executing an overall control function for the operations of the Internet refrigerator(100), extracts load information. The driving part(140) executes a function according to the instruction of the microcomputer(130). The display part(150) displays the present operation content of the driving part(140). The key input part(160) executes a key input function for refrigeration/freezing, function selection/modification, etc., according to a user's manipulation.
