PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope type sampler improved to be able to surely and quickly sample cartilage tissue from a coelom without requiring much working space. SOLUTION: The endoscope type sampler for cartilage tissue includes a hollow shank 1 with a scoop 2 at its end portion, a handle 3 with a drive mechanism 4 provided in the rear end portion of the hollow shank 1, and a drive rod 6 connected to the drive member 4 and axially movable within the shank 1. The sampler has a longitudinally moving lid member 7 provided at the front end portion of the drive rod 6 to close a recess 5 in the scoop 2 secured to the shank 1.
