PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporter for wearing around the knee capable of alleviating the symptoms of knee osteoarthrosis by reducing the lability of the knee joint, while at the same time aiding weakened muscles around the knee joint. SOLUTION: The supporter comprises an upper fixed part 2 fixedly wound around the upper portion of the knee; a lower fixed part 3 fixedly wound around the lower portion of the knee; a first auxiliary member 4 oriented vertically on the front face of the patella; an approximately V-shaped second auxiliary member 5 having its base part attached to the upper and lower fixed parts 2 and 3, with its end being extended to the other side of the first auxiliary member 4 and freely attachable to the upper fixed part 2; and an approximately V-shaped third auxiliary member 6 having its base part similarly attached to the upper and lower fixed parts 2 and 3, with its end being extended to the other side of the first auxiliary member 4 and freely attachable to the lower fixed part 3. Each of the members is stretchable and the tensions of the first, second and third auxiliary members 4, 5 and 6 assist the strength of the quadriceps muscle of the thigh in stretching the knee. |
