PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker which prevents steam generated between an external surface of an inner pot and a front surface of a dish-shape heating plate from infiltrating into a space between an inner case and an outer case via a hole for a temperature sensor for the dish-shape heating plate. SOLUTION: This rice cooker is comprised of the dish-shape heating plate having a heating source embedded in a bottom thereof and having the hole for the temperature sensor in the central portion of the bottom, the inner pot mounted on the dish-shape heating plate, and a display section arranged at a front portion on an upper surface of a cover. According to the rice cooker, a groove is formed in the front surface of the dish-shape heating plate from a lower portion to an upper portion. The groove functions to release steam generated when water droplets adherent to the external surface of the inner pot at the time of heating, is vaporized.
