PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel with which unnecessary consumption of electric power is prevented and the display surface of an indicator is protected. SOLUTION: This fishing reel is characterized in that in a fishing reel in which a reel body for rotatably supporting a spool is equipped with an electronic controller for measuring various kinds of fishing information pieces, set information pieces, etc., inputting and indicating the information pieces on the indicator, the indicator can be changed from a state to be visually checked from the outside to a state not to be visually checked and a change means for switching on/off the power supply of the electronic controller and the indicator is installed in linking to the change operation of the indicator.
