PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fishing line having a specific gravity which can be made higher than that of a conventional fishing line and is an arbitrary value without being limited to an inherent specific gravity which a material has. SOLUTION: A metal-containing resin is used as a material, made into a melt spinning monofilament which may have a tapered shape or a metal spinning monofilament having a hollow structure and the monofilament is coated with a resin which may optionally contain a metal so that a tapered shape is formed to give the objective fishing line.
