PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an enzyme sensor which uses a solid electrolyte, whose dynamic range is wider than that in conventional cases and whose response speed is fast. SOLUTION: A porous electrode 2 and a porous electrode 3 are formed on both faces of the sintered compact of a solid electrolyte 1. One electrode is exposed to an air atmosphere so as to be used as the reference electrode 3. A membrane in which a hardly soluble electron donor is immobilized to a peroxidase and water is placed on the other electrode and it is used as a working electrode so as to be immersed in a measuring solution. An electromotive force across the reference electrode and the working electrode is measured, and a chemical substance in an aqueous solution is sensed. |
