PURPOSE: A mobile terminal having an FM transmitting module is provided to enable a user to conveniently listen to a high-quality audio signal by adding an FM transmitting module to a mobile terminal so that a music file, decoded at an MP3 decoder, can be output through the speaker of a radio. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal(202) is comprised of a baseband controller(204), an MP3 decoder(208), an FM transmitting module(210), a memory(212), a radio transceiver(214), a terminal transmit-receive antenna(216), an FM transmitting antenna(218), and an external output port(220). The baseband controller(204) controls the operations of the mobile terminal(202) overall. The radio transceiver(214) converts a modulation signal, generated from the baseband controller(204), into a high frequency signal and transmits it through the terminal transmit-receive antenna(216). The memory(212) stores the MP3 file data downloaded to the mobile terminal(202). The MP3 decoder(208) decodes the MP3 file data transferred through the baseband controller(204), generates an audio signal, and outputs it to the FM transmitting module(210) or to the mobile terminal's speaker or earphone through the external output port(220). The FM transmitting module(210) receives the audio signal output from the MP3 decoder(208) and modulates it into the signal of a frequency band which can be received at a radio. The modulated signal is sent to the air through the FM transmitting antenna(218).
