PURPOSE: A device and a method for protecting an account in a multiple user computer system are provided to protect an account, or resources or information being managed according to accounts and perform a using details chase easily by preventing a password of a user account from being exposed and an account from being used by other user abnormally. CONSTITUTION: A kernel module(210) processes a system call. A database module(220) manages information with respect to a protection account. An interface(230) performs a communication for registering and removing a protection account in the database. The kernel module(210) checks an authority of a user with respect to a protection account through a communication with the database module(220). The database module(220) comprises the database for storing information with respect to a protection account and a database interface for controlling the database.
