PURPOSE: A method for selecting a receiving operation mode in a mobile terminal is provided to enable a user to talk over the phone with people who a user wants, even though the terminal is set up in an automatic response mode or an operation mode. CONSTITUTION: A terminal user sets up a terminal in an automatic response mode or an operation mode, and saves telephone numbers of callers which the user wants to receive(S21). The terminal receives a call with a CLI(Caller ID) transmitted from a base station(S22) and searches whether the received telephone number agrees with the preliminarily saved telephone number(S23). If not, the terminal is operated in the automatic response mode or the operation mode set by the user preliminarily(S24). If agrees, the terminal displays the corresponding telephone number at a screen and alerts the user(S25). The user confirms the alert, selects a receipt-holding function, and moves to a place where the user receives the call. The user talks over the phone with the caller.
