PURPOSE: A cup holder for a vehicle is provided to reduce a producing cost by minimizing component and to prevent a gap by preventing bending deformation of a combining portion between a cover and a housing. CONSTITUTION: A cup holder in a vehicle comprises a housing(100) mounted in a console; a receiving space unit(110) receiving a cup by being installed on an inner portion of the housing; a ratchet(120) arranged on a front center portion of the housing; a cover(200) opening the receiving space unit by being rotationally combined to a rear portion of the housing; a cover open unit mounted between the housing and the cover; a locker(210) fixed on the ratchet of the housing by being formed on the cover; brackets(310) arranged on both sides of the housing; a piston bumper installed on an inner portion of the bracket by having a spring and a pin; a rod(330) receiving resilient force by being contacted to the pin of the piston bumper; a damping unit(400) preventing sudden rotation of the cover; plural gears(410) combined to a hinge shaft combining portion; an oil damper(420) containing oil by being combined to the gears; and a reinforcing panel(500).
