PURPOSE: A method for driving a radio frequency plasma display panel is provided to improve contrast and lower address voltage by performing simultaneously a reset discharge and a priming discharge in a reset period. CONSTITUTION: A radio frequency plasma display panel displays an image by combining a multitude of sub field including a reset period, an address period, and a sustain period. All discharge cells on a whole screen are initialized and wall charges are formed uniformly on the discharge cells when a reset pulse(RS) is applied to a scan electrode in the reset period. A scan pulse(S) and a data pulse(D) are applied to the scan electrode and an address electrode in the address period, respectively. An address discharge is generated from the discharge cells to which the data pulse(D) is applied. The wall charges are formed on the discharge cells by the address discharge. Trigger pulses are applied to the scan electrode and the address electrode in the sustain period. The wall charges are activated as space charges. In addition, a trigger discharge is generated between the scan electrode and the address electrode in order to generate the space charges. |
