PURPOSE: Provided are a method for preparing manganese complex hydroxide primarily consisting of manganese, nickel and cobalt at pH of 11.0-11.99, and a manganese complex hydroxide prepared by the method, and a cathode active material comprising the manganese complex hydroxide. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) introducing a metal salt solution having a concentration of metal salt of 1.5-3.0M into reactor containing distilled water at constant velocity so that residence time of the particles is 3-10 hours; (ii) introducing aqueous ammonia solution into the reactor at constant velocity so that molecular ratio of ammonia and metal salt is 1-4, and adjusting a reaction temperature to 30-50 deg.C, and a pH to 11.0-11.99, so as to form particles; and (iii) overflowing, collecting, filtrating and drying the formed particles. The manganese complex hydroxide is represented by formula: Ni1-v-w-x-y-zMnvCowMxM'yM"z(OH)2(wherein each of M, M' and M" is Al, Mg, Sr or Ca, and v, w, x, y and z are values satisfying formula 0.1<=v<=0.40, 0.01<=w<=0.2, 0<=x+y+z<=0.05).
