PURPOSE: A fuel fouling is removed by detecting the fuel fouling in a cylinder to make ignition of a spark plug easily. CONSTITUTION: A fuel fouling removing device comprises a high voltage electrode(11) to apply a high voltage power to a spark plug(10). An earth electrode(13) is used as an earth. An electrode heater(14) heats the earth electrode receiving a control signal from an ECU. The ECU detects voltage difference between the high voltage electrode and the earth electrode to detect a fuel fouling. If the fuel fouling is detected, the electrode heater is controlled to remove the fuel fouling.
