PURPOSE: A device for preventing contamination of a near-field optical head is provided to collect and eliminate foreign substances around a slider by a foreign substance collection electrode, while the slider travels on a disk, so that the contamination of the SIL due to the foreign substances is prevented. CONSTITUTION: A slider(53) is supported by a suspension(51) in a drive, and has a condensing hole(53a) perforated in an up and down directions to transmit a light source. An objective lens(55) installed on an upper part of the condensing hole of the slider refracts incident light. An SIL(57) installed in a lower part of the condensing hole of the slider forms a spot on an upper surface of a disk(D) while condensing light passing the objective lens. And a foreign substance collecting unit collects foreign substances around the slider, to prevent the contamination of the SIL due to the foreign substances. |
