PURPOSE: A tension control apparatus of precooler cooling boxes is provided maintain stable operation and produce high quality plating products by solving facility troubles of the precooler cooling boxes cooling the strip after coating liquid zinc on the surface of a strip in a zinc crucible during hot dip galvanizing. CONSTITUTION: In a tension control apparatus of precooler cooling boxes in which circular pulleys(15a,15b) are installed on the upper part of the cooling boxes(1a,1b), one ends of wire ropes are connected to wire fixing stands via circular pulleys, and the other ends of the wire ropes are wound on wire drums(11a,11b), the apparatus comprises a rope separation preventing part preventing separation of the wire ropes that are being proceeded via the circular pulleys(15a,15b) at the sides of the cooling boxes(1a,1b); and a rope length control part controlling length deviation of the wire ropes, wherein the rope separation preventing part comprises stands, a driving motor installed on the upper part of the stands, a fixing stand at both ends of which connectors are equipped, and which is connected to a shaft of the driving motor, and a guide roll(28) connected to the fixing stand through the shaft, and the rope length control part comprises stands(47) on upper surfaces of which rails are installed, on which a pair of guide rods(50a,50b) are vertically installed, and at lower parts of which wire rope connectors are installed, a fixing stand and a wire clamp which are moved along the rails, an air cylinder and guide rods penetrating the fixing stand and the wire clamp, and a stand hoist means installed on the upper surface of the stands.
