PURPOSE: A device for preventing the rapid starting of a vehicle due to mis-operation is provided to avoid an accident due to rapid starting of a vehicle by restricting the mis-operation of an accelerator pedal. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing the rapid starting of a vehicle due to mis-operation includes an accelerator pedal(10), a pedal operation restricting unit(20) installed in a vehicle room to restrict the operation of the accelerator pedal, and an acceleration restriction releasing unit to release the acceleration restriction state of the accelerator pedal by operating the pedal operation restricting unit. The pedal operation restricting unit consists of a guide bracket(21) fixed on a vehicle body, a restricting rod connected with the accelerator pedal and linearly moving along the guide bracket, and a rod movement restricting unit(25) to restrict or release the restricting rod by a signal of the acceleration restriction releasing unit. The operation of the accelerator pedal becomes free a specific time after the operation of the accelerator pedal or when a traveling speed is over a specific level. Therefore, rapid starting is avoided.
