PURPOSE: An impact damping apparatus for a vehicle is provided to prevent a driver and an occupant from being damaged when a vehicle accident occurs by moving a damping member in a reverse direction of the impact. CONSTITUTION: A frame(3) is installed in a chassis panel(2) for supporting a bumper(1). A bumper beam(4) is installed at a front of the frame(3) and a bumper cover(6) is installed at a front of the bumper beam(4). An absorber(5) is accommodated between the bumper beam(4) and the bumper cover(6) to absorb the impact. A fixing member(10) is fixed at a lower portion of the chassis panel(2). A housing(11) having a recess(12) is formed at one side of the fixing member(10). A gas generator(13) is accommodated in the recess(12) of the housing(11). A damping member(14) is provided at one side of the gas generator(13).
