METHOD FOR ASSIGNING TRAFFIC CHANNEL RESOURCE AND CONTROLLING CALL IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for assigning a traffic channel resource and controlling a call in a mobile communication system is provided to effectively use a traffic channel resource by calculating a channel resource used dedicatedly by each traffic form, assigning a channel first to a dedicatedly assigned area when a call is requested, and assigning a channel by inspecting there is an available channel in a shared channel area if there is no available channel in an environment where various traffic forms with difference transfer rate required for a voice, a packet and an image traffic. CONSTITUTION: A hybrid channel method is adopted in which some of the entire traffic channel resources are used dedicatedly by each traffic form and some are shared by each traffic form. The number of THPs(traffic handling processor) used dedicatedly by each traffic form and the number of the THPs used by sharing are properly calculated. And then, when a call is requested, an available traffic channel is assigned. Then, the traffic channel resource can be more effectively used than using the traffic channel resource by sharing it by the entire traffic form.
