PURPOSE: An immobilizer control method in operating an engine of a vehicle is provided to improve stability by displaying an engine stop guide message without stopping the engine in ICU(Immobilizer Control Unit) mode. CONSTITUTION: An electronic control unit processes an ICU mode according to a signal from a diagnosis scan unit in starting a vehicle(ST21-ST22), and detects demand of ICU sub mode in the ICU mode(ST23-ST24). The present ICU menu data is displayed by the electronic control unit in the ICU sub mode(ST25). A message on working after stopping an engine is displayed(ST26). The ICU mode is performed by turning an ignition key(ST27), and the ICU sub menu is performed by the electronic control unit(ST28). Engine stop is prevented in processing the ICU mode, and information on the ICU mode is checked in operating the engine.
