PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a pressure exerted on a liquid crystal panel by a molded frame of a surface light source apparatus mounted as a back light for liquid crystal display, and to obtain a liquid crystal display device having a high display quality. SOLUTION: Outside step portions 8a are provided at corner parts of a bridge portion 8 where variations in thickness easily occur in a molded frame of the surface light source apparatus, and the thickness of the corner parts is formed thinner than the thickness of other portions of the molded frame 7.
