DIGITAL VSB DETECTOR HAVING BAND PHASE TRACKER UTILIZING RADAR FILTER FOR USE IN HDTV RECEIVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the performance of a high density digital television(HDTV) signal radio receiver by detecting the vestigial sideband information in a digital region through a digital VSB detector having a band phase tracker utilizing a radar filter in order to receive a digital TV signal including a pilot carrier, the vestigial sideband of low band frequency of the pilot carrier and the full sideband of high band frequency of the pilot carrier. SOLUTION: The digital VSB detector comprises a tuner converting the frequency to select one of channels at positions of different frequency band, and to select the channel of a last intermediate frequency signal including the vestigial sideband of low band frequency of a pilot carrier and the full sideband of high band frequency of the pilot carrier, an analog/digital converter for digitizing the last intermediate frequency signal in order to generate a digitized last intermediate frequency signal as an output signal, and a digital circuit for synchrodyning the digitized last intermediate frequency signal to a base band.
