PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic electrodeposition coating composition containing a low-temperature-curing new curing agent and capable of reducing volatiles under baking. SOLUTION: This cationic electrodeposition coating composition comprises an amine-modified epoxy resin and a carbodiimide group-containing compound of the formula: A-CO-NH-(R2-N=C=N)n-R2-NH-CO-R1 [R1 is a residue resulted from reaction between an isocyanate group and an alcohol, amine or the like; R2 is a residue resulted from eliminating the isocyanate group from a diisocyanate compound; n is an integer of 1-10; and A is R1 or the group: X-R3- X-CO-NH-(R4-N=C=N)m-R4-NH-CO-R1 (R3 is a residue resulted from eliminating the hydroxy group and the amino group from a 2-100C diol and a diamine respectively; R4 is a residue resulted from eliminating the isocyanate group from a diisocyanate compound; X is O, NH or the like; and m is an integer of 1-10)].
