LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display panel and a method of fabricating the panel are provided to prevent lights from leaking from a portion surrounding an array by forming a dummy pattern at the surrounding portion. CONSTITUTION: A gate line(111) is formed on the first substrate divided into an array part and a part surrounding the array part. A gate insulating layer is formed on the overall surface of the first substrate including the gate line. A data line(113) intersects the gate line to define a pixel region on the array part. A light leakage prevention layer(111a) is formed between the array surrounding portion and the lines. A thin film transistor and a pixel electrode(115) are formed in the pixel region. A black matrix and a color filter are formed on the second substrate. The first and second substrates are attached to each other. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first and second substrates. The light leakage prevention layer is formed of the same material of the gate line.
