PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new phosphorus-containing oxazoline compound, a metal complex containing the compound as a ligand and a method for producing a chiral organic compound by the asymmetric addition reaction to a multiple bond using the metal complex as a catalyst. SOLUTION: The objective compound is a chiral ligand of a complex of a metal of subgroups I and VIII, useful as a catalyst for the asymmetric addition reaction to a prochiral unsaturated organic compound and expressed by general formula [X1 is a secondary phosphino group; R3 is H, a 1-20C hydrocarbon group, a hetero-hydrocarbon group bonded through C atom and having 2-20 atoms and one or more hetero-atoms consisting of O, S or NR or ferrocenyl; R is H or a 1-4C alkyl; R4 groups are each a 1-20C hydrocarbon group or both R4 groups together form a 1-20C hydrocarbon group; and R01 and R02 are each independently H or a 1-20C hydrocarbon group].
