PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool the inside of a liquid crystal unit including a backlight or the like by using natural convection. SOLUTION: An evacuation opening part 7a is formed on the upper part of a case 7 of a vertical type liquid crystal unit 1 and an intake opening part 7b is formed on the lower part of the case 7. Consequently, when the air inside the liquid crystal unit 1 is heated with the backlight 2 or the like, the heated air rises and discharged from the evacuation opening part 7a while the air outside the liquid crystal unit 1 flows in from the intake opening part 7b, thereby result cools the backlight 2 or the like.
