PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule for a plastic optical fiber which prevents pistoning phenomena from generating and also hardly causes a deformation in terminating, and an optical connector having it. SOLUTION: The ferrule 11 in which a metallic cylindrical tube 13 forming the outermost peripheral wall body is provided encircling the peripheral part of a recessed part 14 is adopted. Also, the optical connector having the ferrule 11 is adopted.
