PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete storage container which can store radioactive substances safely and stably over a long period. SOLUTION: A body 12 of an almost cylindrical vessel made of concrete has a housing part 22, which stows a canister 14 which includes the radioactive substances. The outer surface of the body 12 of the container is covered with an outer shell 40, made of a steel plate. The outer shell 40 has an inner liner 30 covering the inner peripheral surface of the body 12 of the container, an outer liner 32 covering the outer peripheral surface of it and upper and lower ends liners 34 and 35 covering the upper and lower ends of it. Outer studs 36 are placed over the substantially the entire outer liner 32 on the liner surface of it, and inner studs 37 are formed on the outer surface of the lower end of the inner liner 30. No studs are placed in the upper end liner 3, and the displacement due to the thermal expansion of the inner liner 30.
